In this workshop you will have the opportunity to make 4 x stained glass panels using the copper foiled technique. Each panel is made up of 4 x pre-cut rectangular pieces of glass and is soldered together.   There will be no cutting involved in this workshop and you will be able to complete the lantern within the 3 hour workshop and then take the piece home with you. Please be aware that the panels are designed for indoor use as moisture may cause the copper foiling to lift off the glass and weaken. 

This workshop is suitable for adults only as the foiling technique uses a soldering iron. This workshop is for a maximum of 4 x students per session and there will be 1 x session on the day

The Cost of this workshop is £75.00 per person and includes all materials (the Ikea lantern), use of equipment and tuition

Copper foiled Stained glass boats  

In this workshop you will have the opportunity to make 3  x mini sailing boats using the copper foiling technique. There will be a selection of pre cut stained glass pieces that may require further grinding and shaping to ensure a neat fit as you construct the your sailing boats.

Once you've completed the construction of each sailing boat you will attach them to a piece of sanded and polished pallet wood. Each boat has a small piece of wire fixed onto the base and this is used to fix the boat to the wooden base. I will drill 3 x holes in the wood at the locations agreed and then insert the wire into the hole so that it can free stand. All students will be shown how to apply a Patina that changes the finish of the solder to a black colour that looks more like lead, however you can leave the solder silver if you prefer. At the end of the workshop you will be able to take the piece away with you. This workshop is suitable for adults only as the foiling technique uses a soldering iron. This workshop is for a maximum of 4 x students per session to ensure that all students get personal guidance when required as well as group instruction
